This complete mechanical system transfers movement of all three pedals to one or two lever situated beneath the steering wheel. The lever on the right side controls the clutch and brake. Moving the lever downwards operates the clutch, while pushing it towards the dashboard controls brake, independently of the clutch position. The lever on the left side controls the accelerator. Alternatively, the accelerator can be positioned as a ring on the steering wheel. The accelerator can also be positioned  on the right side as a motorcycle-style handle, allowing all three pedals to be controlled by a single lever.

Certification and approval by the Ministry of Transport ensure that you are installing a reliable mechanical system in your vehicle.

To ensure the system functions correctly, we provide routine servicing completely free of charge for the entire lifetime of the device. If you require guidance on using the hand control, we can arrange a test drive with you or organise a "refresher drive" at a driving school, where you will learn how to operate the MERO 1 system properly.

Advantages and Features of the MERO 1 System

  • Reliable, fully adaptable mechanical control
  • Certification, approval by the Ministry of Transport, and homologation for many vehicle types - view the gallery of cars equipped by MERO 1 hand control
  • Several accelerator control options
  • A system requiring higher coordination of individual controls and procedures

Variable Control

The device is fitted with a dual clutch lock - one for fully disengaging the clutch and one with a slip position for smooth starts and precise vehicle handling. The clutch lock can also be disengaged entirely, allowing for a “sport” style of gear shifting. The system’s flexibility also allows for a single-stage roller clutch lock. This lock cannot be disengaged, but the pressure on the roller can be adjusted, providing either a firm or gentle hold in the clutch disengaged position.

Accelerator control can be installed in various ways: as a lever on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, as a twist-grip on the brake and clutch lever, or as an electronic ring accelerator on the steering wheel. If the driver needs to replace control of all pedals, we recommend the alternative of the MERO 2a or MERO 3 hand control systems with an electronic clutch, optionally supplemented with an electronic ring on the steering wheel.

MERO 1 - Basic Hand Control Variants

MERO 1 - Classic Hand Control Layout

On the left is the throttle lever - pulling it down accelerates the vehicle; on the right are the brake and clutch levers.

MERO 1 - Clutch, Brake, Throttle on a Single Right-Hand Lever

The brake and clutch lever is fitted with a motorcycle-style grip, so all pedal controls are operated from a single lever. This is often supplemented with an additional throttle lever on the left, as shown in the illustration. This allows the user to select different throttle controls for different driving situations, such as parking or reversing.

MERO 1 - with Electronic Ring Accelerator

An electronic ring on the steering wheel can, of course, be used to control the accelerator. The ring can be push-operated, a top-mounted sliding ring, or positioned underneath the steering wheel.
